Part of the fun of creating theatre is solving problems without spending more money. This leads to greater innovation. In fact, the Chicago Tribune says:
“Theater artists of all stripes — particularly new companies — need to see [Red Tape] if only to see the possibilities if you think big and work with innovative designers. Miniscule budgets are no excuse for shoddy production values, and Red Tape is keeping the bar high.”
Ticket sales account for less than 50% of our annual operating budget. A gift of $50 will costume an actor for a show; a gift of $100 will help pay an actor for a show, a gift of $250 will buy props for a show; a gift of $500 will pay a designer for a show; a gift of $1,000 will help build the set for a show; a gift of over $1,000 will provide a stipend for our admin team who work all year long creating plays and employing local artists.
